Host Elliot Minsk explores the first album released on Apple Records on his long running Westwood One Radio Series


In hour one we’ll explore the first Beatle album released on Apple records. The official title was “The Beatles” but fans and the Beatles themselves nicknamed the record “The White Album” for its stark white cover. A mammoth undertaking which took the Beatles a long five months to record and mix. In this part one of our two part special we’ll focus on the songs.


In hour two we’ll focus on the disintegration of The Beatles which took place during the recording of the “White Album.” For many including the beatles the writing was on the wall and in the songs. This wasn’t a group effort in the true sense of the word it was instead a collection of solo songs released under the group heading of The Beatles.
